Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how First100Readers ("we", "us", "the platform") collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use our website at first100readers.com and its related services.

1. Who we are

First100Readers is a platform operated by Laximus Business Ventures Private Limited that connects book authors with vetted readers who read the author's book and leave honest reviews. Three types of accounts exist on the platform: readers, authors, and administrators.

2. Information we collect

Depending on your role, we collect the following:

  • Account details: your name, email address, and phone number (verified with a one-time password sent by SMS).
  • Reader profile: genre preferences, city, self-reported information about whether you have an Amazon account that can post reviews (we do not verify this with Amazon), and a short self-description you submit during screening.
  • Author profile: author name, bio, optional profile photo, and the books, cover images, manuscripts, and copy you upload.
  • Payment information for authors: when you fund your wallet, payments are processed by Razorpay. Card, UPI, and bank details are handled by Razorpay under their own terms — we do not store your full card or bank details on our servers. We store only the Razorpay order ID and payment ID, the amount, and the status of each transaction.
  • Payout information for readers: your preferred payout method (for example UPI ID or bank details) so we can transfer earned rewards to you.
  • Activity data: which books you claim, download, and review; the text and rating of the reviews you submit; and wallet transaction history.
  • Device and browser fingerprint: a hashed fingerprint of your browser and device is generated at signup and at review submission. We use this only to detect fraud — for example, an author trying to review their own book from a second account. We do not sell or share fingerprint data.
  • Communications: emails you send us through the contact form, along with your name, email address, and phone number if you include it.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account and verify your identity.
  • To match readers with books, process claims, deliver watermarked review copies, and record reviews.
  • To process author wallet recharges through Razorpay and to send approved reader payouts.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, self-reviews, and abuse of the platform.
  • To send you transactional and lifecycle emails about your account — for example, application status, claim confirmations, review outcomes, wallet activity, and reminders to complete a review you claimed.
  • To respond to messages you send us through the contact form.
  • To publish an aggregate leaderboard of top reviewers by month and all time. Readers are notified about this at signup and can be excluded from the leaderboard on request.

4. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers we need to run the platform:

  • Razorpay — payment processor for author wallet recharges and reader payouts.
  • Supabase — our managed database, authentication, and file storage provider.
  • Lovable — our hosting and email delivery infrastructure, used to send transactional email from notifications@first100readers.com.
  • GoHighLevel — communications platform used to send reminder notifications and other outbound messages.
  • Additional communication tools we may use for outbound notifications (for example email or messaging platforms). If we add a new processor, we will update this policy.

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or a valid regulatory request.

5. Data retention

We keep account, transaction, and review data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with tax, accounting, and anti-fraud obligations. You may request deletion of your account through the contact form; some records (for example completed payment transactions) may be retained where required by law.

6. Security

Access to your data is protected by database-level access controls and role-based rules. Payment card and bank details are handled by Razorpay and never stored in our database. No system is completely secure — we work to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights

You can update your name, email, phone, and profile at any time from your account. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by writing to us through the contact form or at support@first100readers.com.

8. Children

The platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the revised policy.
